WDM Scotland gathering
Saturday 20 April from 12noon – 4.30pm (registration from 11.30am)
At Oakshaw Trinity Church Halls, Oakshaw Street East, Paisley PA1 2DE
I am emailing you because you are a member of the World Development Movement. I would like to warmly invite you to our Scottish gathering taking place in Paisley next month. It will be a chance to meet with others who care about global justice and want to make a difference. The gathering will be a relaxed and interesting afternoon where you can learn more about WDM’s campaigns, meet other WDM supporters and staff, and feel part of the global movement for social justice. As one of our Glasgow group members said: “Working together gives us confidence to do things that will be noticed and gives us a much louder voice.”
In March, we launched our new climate campaign that is exposing how banks and pensions funds are bankrolling dirty energy projects in the global south, and you will be able to find out more about the campaign at the gathering. You will also have the chance to learn about campaigning on global justice issues in your local area, meet WDM staff from Edinburgh and London, and local group members from across Scotland. More information about the event is on our website. Go to: www.wdm.org.uk/events/wdm-scotland-gathering
The event is free and tea and coffee will be provided. There will be a ‘bring and share’ lunch, and so we are asking everyone who is coming along to bring something to share with other people.
I really hope you can make it along to the WDM Scotland gathering. The event is open to everyone, so please invite your friends! To give us an idea of the number of people attending, we are asking everyone to let us know that they are coming by contacting the WDM office: jane@wdmscotland.org.uk or phone 0131 243 2730.
I look forward to meeting you in Paisley!
Best wishes,
